Happy Days nursery group expands into Bristol

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

Happy Days nursery chain is to open its first setting in Bristol next year, as part of plans to further expand into the south-west.

The 100-place nursery, which will be based at the Almondsbury Business Centre in Woodlands Lane, Bradley Stoke, is due to open in January.

This will be followed by another nursery in North Bristol, opening in spring 2015.

In April, Happy Days, which currently operates 16 settings across Devon and Cornwall, announced plans to open six more nurseries in the south-west over two years after securing £3.9 million of investment from ISIS Equity Partners.

The group is now in the process of identifying further sites in the Bristol area.

Jackie Arthur, managing director of Happy Days, said, ‘The new nursery heralds the beginning of an exciting time for us and we are putting our extra investment to good use in this strategy for growth.

‘The Woodlands Lane site is ideally located for business people travelling around or into Bristol and wanting to leave and collect their children on the way to and from work.

‘We are extremely keen to work in partnership with businesses and employees to offer them high-quality childcare in the area.’

This month, one of the group’s nurseries, Happy Days in Exeter, which opened in February, was awarded outstanding by Ofsted.
