Children and staff at the after-school club at St Joan of Arc Primary School in Islington are celebrating becoming the borough's first early years provision to receive an outstanding rating from Ofsted.

The setting, run by the Highbury Roundhouse Association, provides a programme of activities for children aged four to 11 on the school premises until 6pm. Options for extra classes include drama, guitar lessons, jewellery making and karate.

The inspection report highlights the communication between the after-school club and the school, the arrangement of activities in both the indoor and the outdoor areas, and the newly installed adventure play equipment.
