See what nurseries across the country have been up to.

CHILDREN IN NEED

Nurseries and early years settings in their hundreds celebrated BBC's Children in Need to raise money for sick and disadvantaged children.

Kids in Bloom in Kirby, Merseyside (above), enjoyed a circus themed day.

The manager of Early Years Childcare in Crawley, Rebecca Bourne, volunteered to be gunged by children and staff.

 

At Footsteps Day Nursery in Stratford upon Avon they held a sponsored 'zumbatomic' session.

Children at Heathrow Day Nursery in Middlesex took part in various activities including makng Pudsey masks.

Everyone wore fancy dress at Home Farm Day Nursery in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.

Alphabet House Day Nursery in Lowdham, Nottingham (above) organised a 'jelly in your wellies' activity and balloon race.

Little Acorns in Northampton dressed in spotty clothes to raise money.

Building Blocks in Rosyth, Scotland held a pyjama party.

Little Acorns Day Nursery in Rothwell baked a Pudsey cake and biscuits.

Children at St Philips and St James Playgroup in Fleet, Hampshire, enjpyed a party to mark the occassion, launch their new garden and celebrate their outstanding grade from Ofsted.

Little Acorns Community Nursery in Burnley, Lanashire wore their pyjamas to take part in a day's worth of themed activities.

Brenchley Pre-School in Kent welcomed a visit from the Children in Need mascot Pudsey Bear.

A bake sale was held at the Norland Nursery in Bath, Somerset, while children from Sutherland Nursery in Tolworth, Surrey did a sponsored pyjama walk. Childcare students from Norland College also got involved with fundraising activities.

It was a timely event for children at the Old London Road Pre-School in St Albans, Hertfordshire, when they observed the eleventh hour and minute of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 2011.

REMEMBERANCE DAY 

Early years settings took part in events ahead of Remembrance Sunday on 13 November.

Children at Walford Pre-School in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire (below), and at Active Learning in Dorking, Surrey, made wreaths of poppies to place on their local war memorials.

At Tops Day Nursery in Poole, Dorset (top) and LEYF's Luton Street Community Nursery in London (bottom), children made and sold poppies to parents and visitors.

Children from Little Rascals Nursery and Pre-school in Worthing, West Sussex, attended the remembrance service at Worthing Town Hall.
