A survey by the Royal College of Midwives and Netmums has highlighted a lack of advice on weight management and nutrition for women before and after pregnancy.
It found that 61 per cent of the 6,226 mothers questioned said theirmidwife did not have enough time to discuss concerns about weightmanagement and nutrition. Obesity was one of the top three issuesidentified by heads of midwifery as contributing to the increasedcomplexity of maternity cases stretching the midwifery workforce.
