Consultation on the DoH's Healthy Start scheme

* The consultation on the DoH's Healthy Start scheme has proposed a choice of milk or fruit be offered to children under five in LEA and Ofsted-registered nurseries and daycare centres. The DoH said exact dates and details of how nurseries and daycare centres would be affected are 'yet to be developed, but it is unlikely that any changes will be made until mid 2006'.
