Ready, set, read! Inspiring reading in the Early Years Foundation Stage

Course description

An exciting course for pre-school practitioners, nursery staff, teachers, support staff and librarians. We will explore strategies for helping young children towards a love of books and identify ways to lay the foundations for happy and successful reading.

Expected learning outcomes

·      greater understanding of early reading development

·      effective ways to nurture reading development and foster reading enjoyment

·      innovative ideas for integrating literacy into all aspects of teaching and learning

·      strategies for developing reading skills and enjoyment through play

·      more confidence in choosing and using books and other resources

·      new ideas for supporting parents and carers and for family literacy

·      tips for creating a literacy rich environment
