Understanding babies' minds

Monday, August 22, 2011

Kate Cairns Associates, which specialises in training on attachment, early brain development and developmental trauma, has just launched a new series of one-day national training events.

'Relationships build brains - why adults are important to young children' equips practitioners to understand the role adults play in the brain development of babies, and enable them to work more effectively with them and their parents. The course covers four areas: attachment and brain development - how adult behaviour shapes the brains of children; understanding trauma - explaining the impact of unregulated stress; managing stress and behaviour; and implications for practice - building resilience through your network. It will run in September, November and next February.

Meanwhile,'Learn the child' addresses how traumatised children can be helped to learn.
