Position: Recently retired head teacher of Beverley Manor Nursery School in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

- What are your proudest achievements and most memorable moments having worked at the nursery school for the past 19 years?

My proudest moments are the nursery school being awarded the Basic Skills Quality Mark five times in a row, and gaining five outstanding Ofsted inspections. I have lots of memories of the children, their faces, and the things they said.

- Why do you think the nursery school has been so successful and achieved so many outstanding inspections?

Very good teaching, high but realistic expectations and a holistic approach to the curriculum, along with good and thorough planning. All staff at the nursery school spend a lot of time with the children and really get to know them.

- How will you be spending your retirement?

I'm trying to slow down and not think about the nursery school. It will take a long time to adapt.
