Sign up for Nursery World's conference on two-year-olds

Friday, March 1, 2013

Nursery World is running a conference, 'Two-Year-Olds: Policy and Practice' on 19 April to provide expert advice and debate on provision for this age group.

With the Government's programme to offer free early education places for two-year-olds from disadvantaged families beginning to roll out, and the introduction of the two-year-old check into the revised Early Years Foundation Stage, providers need as much support and information as possible.

Nursery World's conference will include an overview of the funded places from James Hempsall, who is leading the 'Achieving Two-Year-Olds' support programme for the Department for Education.

Early years consultant and author Penny Tassoni, who is currently writing a series on two-year-olds for Nursery World, will talk about 'What makes two-year--olds special'.

Further sessions will examine the 'Progress Check at Two', planning, observation and assessment, and the keyworker role.  A series of workshops will include schemas, child behaviour, communication and language and working with parents.
