Friday, March 29, 2019
PACEY has launched the next stage of a campaign to dispel myths about childminders and boost take-up of funded twos places.
As part of the Together for Twos project the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY) is providing information and resources to children’s centres, GP surgeries, libraries and Job Centre Plus to share with parents.
The project is being funded by the Department for Education and runs in seven local authority areas until March 2020, as well as nationally online. The areas are Greenwich, Bexley, Harrow, Hillingdon, Southend on Sea, Waltham Forest and Enfield.
The aim is to dispel myths both about childminding as a career choice and as a childcare choice for parents.
The #notababysitter campaign will include a series of posters, postcards and social media graphics designed to grab the attention of parents and provide clear concise messages about the value of choosing a childminder.
As well as encouraging their sharing via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, the resources are also be available as digital downloads. It follows on from a previous PACEY media campaign #ChildcareChampions.
Local authorities will also be able to access personalised posters and the opportunity to include their logo and unique URLs.
