PACEY launches its biggest ever workforce survey

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

Whether you’re a childminder or a nursery owner, PACEY wants to hear from you.

The childcare and early years survey is open to all early years and childcare professionals and aims to provide a snapshot of what it's like working in the sector.

How do you see your job? How do you think parents, schools or other professionals perceive your role? What do you think about qualifications and professional development?

And with the election just a few months away, PACEY wants to find out what you think are the top priorities for the next Government.

Liz Bayram, chief executive of PACEY, said, ‘Discussions around childcare, whether in the media or among policy makers, invariably revolve around the cost to parents. PACEY knows childcare cost is a key issue for families but so is the quality of the care their children receive. ‘We will be taking an in-depth look at the state of the sector itself. In this survey we are asking childcare professionals about their experiences, as well as what they believe should be the main priorities for a future administration to tackle.’

PACEY will use the results to represent the voice of the sector to policy makers before and after the general election.

Ms Bayram added, ‘PACEY is committed to supporting a high quality childcare workforce, and we can only do that if we listen to the professionals working in settings day in and day out. Many of our members tell us they feel undervalued and unrecognised for the important job they do. Through this survey we can build a unique and detailed picture of what it’s like to work in the childcare sector in this country today, and identify the main challenges that front-line professionals face in providing high quality childcare and learning to children.'

You can fill in the PACEY Sector Survey here.

As an added incentive, everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win one of three £50 Love2shop vouchers.

The survey closes at 5pm on 24 February.
