The deal, which completed at the end of November, takes N Family Club’s number of nurseries to 17, providing 1,588 childcare places.

Founded in 2016, Bright Minds Daycare operates four settings in Edgbaston, Codsall, Moseley and the Jewellery Quarter.

N Family Club chief executive and founder Phil Sunderland said, ‘We’re hugely excited to welcome the Bright Minds teams – and their families – to the N Family. The acquisition represents a huge leap forward for us – firstly in scale, but also in our ability to bring N Family Club’s unique brand of early years education to a new audience in the West Midlands.’

Barbara Baker, managing director of Bright Minds, added, ‘We’re delighted that our four wonderful nurseries will be joining the N Family group. I’m confident that our teams are in safe hands, and the settings will thrive under N’s ownership as they share our ethos and desire to provide outstanding quality care to our children.’

Franchise receives millions of pounds to support its growth

Monkey Puzzle nursery group has received £3.5m from investment firm Imbiba to help grow the franchise.

Lizzie Ryan, partner at Imbiba said, ‘We are delighted to be partnering with Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries. It is a sector that Imbiba has been monitoring for some time and we were drawn by the company’s scalable business model and high calibre management team.

'The company has been incredibly successful at securing off-market sites in highly desirable locations. With considerable opportunities arising with new premises from the disruption caused by Covid- 19, coupled with the increase in demand for high-quality childcare provision, the landscape has never been better for a well-capitalised nursery group to grow.’

Monkey Puzzle’s chief executive Richard Blunden added, ‘This is great news for our people, franchisees, parents and children. We are excited to start this stage of our journey with such an accomplished investor.’
