Thousands of children across the UK will take part in the biggest celebration of play in the UK. This year's theme is 'Take a Chance on Play'

and the event is supported by the Children's Play Council and the Children's Society.

23 August. SENCO - What is it?

This day course by CJ Associates introduces special educational needs.

Topics covered include what SEN means and what we are required to do.

6 and 7 September. The Nottingham Early Years Conference

This two-day conference by the Early Childhood Unit of the National Children's Bureau, CACHE and NES Arnold will examine the integration of care, education and health in services to young children. Topics range from supporting children's learning, and listening and talking to children, to the recruitment and retention of staff. The conference will be opened by Baroness Helena Kennedy and closed by Maggie Smith, head of Ofsted's early years directorate.

This seminar by the National Association of Early Years Professionals (NAEYP) looks at making plans, resources, staffing the environment and evaluating plans.
