The countdown to the revised EYFS has begun, with the start of weekly updates on the Foundation Years website to help early years practitioners prepare for the new framework.

A new countdown button on the website’s home page will provide regular updates on changes to the framework in the run-up to the publication of the EYFS, which is expected at the end of March.

Launching the ‘countdown button’ of the Foundation Years website at the Nursery World Show in London this morning, Sue Robb, head of early years at 4Children, said, ‘In the weeks running up to the publication, we want to alert early years practitioners to where they will find all the information and resources they need to get ready for the new framework which is expected in the spring so they can start thinking through changes from day one.’

She added, ‘The Foundation Years website will have everything that providers need to help implement this new framework. From today, the home page features a new countdown button which on the publication date will become the gateway to an interactive website to support implementation of the new framework including new and revised guidance as well as links to helpful existing resources.

‘During the countdown, the button will be the place to find weekly updated special content that will cover important questions and look at the key areas of change in an engaging and interesting way.’

Anne Longfield, chief executive of 4Children, said, ‘We want everyone in the early years sector to be ready for the new EYFS framework as soon as possible after its publication.

‘With less than six months between its publication and its implementation in September, we know it is crucial that everyone working in childcare settings knows where to find all the relevant information from day one.

‘The Foundations Years online one-stop shop has already established itself as the reference point for early years professionals and practitioners, and using it as the gateway to an interactive EYFS Framework website will be the fastest way possible to get all the relevant information and guidance to the workforce.’
