A look at all your festive celebrations in pictures.

The Roseacre Playgroup in Shepperton made a wintery display inspired by the story The Bear Who Hadn’t Seen Christmas, which features in this year’s Christmas television advert for John Lewis. The children used their handprints to make frosty leaves for the tree.

Footsteps Day Nursery in Farnborough raised over £600 for charity with a Christmas fete including games, crafts, face painting, farm animals and a visit from Father Christmas. Staff and children also held a National Christmas Jumper Day celebration, raising over £60 for Bright Horizons children’s charity Foundations for Children.

Chatterbox House Day Nursery in Sidcup staged an outdoor nativity play as part of the setting’s Christmas celebrations.

Children and staff at Active Learning Nursery in Kingston wore Christmas jumpers and listened to festive music to celebrate National Christmas Jumper Day on 13th December.

Lexden Lodge Kindergarten in Colchester held a Christmas party with a magician, a seasonal feast cooked by the team of nursery chefs and a special visit from Father Christmas and his helpers.

Young Sussex Aldrington Nursery in Hove got a visit from Father Christmas, who brought each child a present for being well-behaved throughout the year.

Busy Bees in Milton Keynes had a visit from Father Christmas, who took some time out of his busy schedule to join the children for breakfast.

Children dressed up and learned lines and songs to perform a nativity play for staff and families at Lollipops Nursery and Creche in Hereford.

As part of national fundraiser Red, White and Blue Day, which aims to raise awareness of issues faced by service children, young people across the country designed postcards to be sent to soldiers serving in Afghanistan. The three best designs were made into one giant postcard which was sent to Camp Bastion on a C-17 RAF plane (pictured, with winner Soffie Rigby, 10).

Evie Joyce, aged six, whose winning design is pictured below, from St Mary and St John C.E.V.A. Primary School in Luffenham, Rutland, said, ‘I am very excited that my postcard won. I am also glad that my friend, Henry, in my class, came second too’.
