Asquith plans expansion

Wednesday, June 11, 2014

Asquith Day Nurseries and Pre-Schools has started a new acquisition programme with the purchase of a 140-place nursery in west London.

The third largest nursery group in the country, Asquith acquired Bobby’s Playhouse in Fulham from previous owners and managers Richard and Emma Hannay.

The rebranded nursery will retain the entire staff team of 36 as well as the existing nursery layout, with nine rooms for different age groups, a great hall for indoor communal play and an outdoor play area.

Asquith chief executive Andy Morris said, ‘Bobby’s Playhouse is an important acquisition for us. It is a quality nursery with a wonderful team – it’s a perfect fit for the Asquith family. This is the first in a series of acquisitions and we are now actively seeking out new opportunities that will enable us to expand the Asquith nursery group further.’

The sale brings the nursery group's total number of settings to 80.

Asquith plans to add between seven and ten settings to the group over the next year.
