It comes after a cross government department consultation on proposals to further restrict less healthy food and drink adverts on TV and online.

Within its consultation response, the Government states, ‘Coming to government this year we have been clear at the core of our health mission that we must take bold action to address the childhood obesity crisis, which includes banning the advertising of junk food to children.’
