A study of 119 premature infants published in the journal Pediatricsfound that girls who received formula milk were eight times more likelyto be hospitalised with respiratory illnesses, while one-fifth of theboys developed respiratory problems severe enough to need hospitaltreatment whether they were breastfed or not.
