See what nurseries around the country have been up to this week.
EASTER FUN
More than 100 families attended an Easter fun day at Busy Bees at Farringtons Nursery in Chislehurst, Kent. Children enjoyed a visit from Eddie the Easter Bunny and activities including face painting and arts and crafts. Little Acorns Day Nursery in Washington, Tyne and Wear, also celebrated Easter with an egg decorating competition. The children's decorated eggs were judged by staff from the Asda store with which the setting shares a site.
WEDDED BLISS
Early years settings across the country celebrated the Royal wedding on 29 April. Busy Bees nursery in Norwich and Green Hedges Day Nursery in Scarborough, North Yorkshire both held garden parties, while Busy Bees Nursery in Walgrave, Northamptonshire, organised a Royal wedding themed fun day for the local community.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Worthing Childminding Association Magic Minders in West Sussex celebrated its tenth anniversary this month with a party for more than 170 childminders and the children in their care. The event was held at Worthing Football Club, with guests including children and families minister Tim Loughton MP and the Mayor of Worthing, Ann Sayers.
SUPER FUNDERS
Supermen, women and children were among the superheroes that children and staff from kidsunlimited North Cheam nursery in Epsom, Surrey, dressed up as, along with some fancy dress princesses, when they raised £800 for the local charity Momentum Brain Injury.
GOING ON A DEER HUNT
Children from Grena Road Day Nursery in Richmond, Surrey, went on a deer hunt in Richmond Park, known for its red and fallow deer population. Their trip was inspired by reading Michael Rosen's classic book We're Going on a Bear Hunt.
