Free business support for childcare businesses

They are designed to complement the Business Map, which was developed to help support business planning and decision-making in early years settings.

Launched in January, three national webinars provided tools to help managers of childcare businesses, with steps to take for business planning now, during the summer term, and throughout 2021.

The webinar, delivered by early years training provider Hempsall’s, is aimed at managers of all early years settings - from home-based childminders to voluntary pre-schools or nursery chains – whether they are new to the role, or experienced leaders.

It is designed around a six-step Business Map process and aims to assist managers in thinking about the current and future needs of their childcare business, and support change and sustainability.

Hempsall’s said that the webinars were attended by 1,561 providers in January.

The series of six vodcasts aims to help bring the Business Map to life. 

The first two of these are out now: ‘Business Map’ and ‘What’s Changing’.  

• Later vodcasts shared throughout February and March 2021 will focus on:
• using social media
• provider reflections of using the tool
• out of school issues
• business re-modelling processes.
