Children's radio group bids for station

* A former children's television presenter has submitted a bid to operate London's first analogue children's radio station. Susan Stranks, former presenter of the ITV programme 'Magpie', submitted one of the eight bids made to the Radio Authority last week on behalf of Abracadabra, a radio station for children aged ten and under and their parents, carers and teachers, which launched a digital station earlier this year. In its application Abradcadra said it would meet its listeners' needs 'by playing a unique mix of music and speech, centred around fun and discovery for children, and parent-orientated entertainment and information for the grown-ups'.
