The nursery group, founded in 1996, has purchased a former setting in Brockhall Village in Blackburn, Lancashire.

Existing members of staff at the 86-place nursery, which is now known as ‘Educare Brockhall’, are continuing to work at the setting.

The new nursery brings the total number of settings owned by Educare for Early Years to four, offering a total of more than 300 childcare places.

The owners of the nursery, David and Mandy Owen, opened their first nursery 18 years ago in Bury, followed by a second setting in Rossendale in 1998, and another nursery in Radcliffe in 2005. All three settings are rated good by Ofsted.

Educare for Early Years also has a quality assurance team in place, made up of four staff, to provide support and guidance to all the nurseries.

Owner Mandy Owen said, ‘We’re delighted to be able to add the nursery at Brockhall to the Educare group. The setting is a good fit for our existing businesses and we’re very excited about the future.’

Anne Johnson, Senior Relationship Manager at NatWest, which provided the financial backing, said, ‘I was delighted to support the Educare Group on this acquisition. The business has gone from strength to strength, and provides a vital service for children across the region.’
