Representation: PAT and PANN to speak with a new voice

Trade unions representing teachers, nursery nurses, nannies, early years specialists and further and higher education lecturers, have come together under one name.

'Voice: the union for education professionals' was launched at the Education Show in Birmingham last week. It incorporates the Professional Association of Teachers (PAT), the Professional Association of Nursery Nurses (PANN), and Professionals Allied to Teaching (PAtT). General secretary Phillip Parkin said, 'We chose the name Voice because dialogue is a core value for our union - it's how we resolve issues, rather than by taking industrial action.
