Health clinics and Sure Start services add to enhanced provision at children's centre

A London children's centre that had been partly closed since November after a voluntary provider shut down has celebrated its relaunch with a family fun day.

Local Sure Start services have moved into the Maxilla Children's Centre in North Kensington, increasing the provision for children and families. The centre now offers a range of health services and an out-of-school club. The 52-place Maxilla Nursery School, which has been operating for more than 30 years, is also housed in the centre. Daycare for under-threes is provided at the nearby Latymer Family Centre. Laura Colletti, acting head of Maxilla Children's Centre, said, 'Maxilla will now offer health promotion...
