Taster qualification accepted on ASL catalogue

06 April 2010, 1:59pm

The CACHE Level 1 Award in Getting Started in a Pre-School setting has now become accepted on the 14-to-19 Diploma Additional and Specialist Learning (ASL) Catalogue, which creates an extra stream of funding for the qualification.

CACHE says schools may now have a greater opportunity to deliver it to learners aged 14-plus.

ASL supports personal development by enhancing a student's progression potential, as well as maintaining motivation and reward through the diploma programme. The Level 1 award covers the basic knowledge needed to begin working in a pre-school and according to CACHE is considered a 'great taster' qualification which will encourage progression to Level 2.
