EYP Update: EYPs funded for CPD

24 February 2010, 12:00am

Qualified EYPs are to receive new funding to support them in their professional development. This funding will come from local authorities and in many cases be directed through their existing support networks.

Thom Crabbe says, 'Local authorities will decide how they can best distribute this funding and will be working in conjunction with local training providers. The aim is to ensure that the funds are spread as widely as possible, embracing the PVI sector.'

He says the funding reflects CWDC's emphasis on ongoing professional development and the need to extend the practice of those who have achieved EYPS. 'The funding is available now and is something that early years managers need to be aware of,' he says.
