EYP Update: Try a taste of the job

28 January 2010, 12:00am

Three hundred places through six training providers are being made available for a student associate scheme that enables degree students to have a 'taster' of specific jobs in the sector.

These courses are available in the first or second years of a degree course and offer work-based experience during the holidays in early years settings. The courses are designed to give students an understanding of various job roles and important skills such as reflective practice. It is hoped that a fair percentage will go on to take EYPS.

The six training providers offering these tasters are the universities Edge Hill, Winchester, Northampton, Sheffield Hallam, Portsmouth and Middlesex.
