Support for fathers

21 January 2010, 12:00am

Fathers are to receive more support and recognition under proposals outlined in the Government's Families Green Paper published yesterday (Wednesday).

It sets out a package of new measures, including a tenpage 'Dads' Guide' by the Fatherhood Institute, to be distributed through Bounty packs, offering advice for fathers. Other measures include a doublesided flyer in the Pregnancy Information pack, looking at the important part that fathers play, and new guidance from the Royal College of Midwives on how they can better engage fathers.
