02 April 2009, 12:00am

Children will be able to use 500 new or refurbished playgrounds in this Easter's holidays. The sites, part of the first roll-out of the £235m play investment announced in the Children's Plan, will be open in 63 local authorities across England. The Government has pledged to fund 3,500 play areas and 30 adventure playgrounds in England by 2011 (News, 18 December). A list of new spaces is available at www.dcsf.gov.uk/play.
