EPPE report backs home learning environment for maths

The importance of home learning environment for how well children do in maths tests at the end of primary school is also revealed in the latest findings from EPPE.

Researchers drew on the findings for an analysis published in the journal Science, which looked for the factors that had the most impact on children's success in maths tests at the age of ten. A good home learning environment, good pre-school and good primary school were found to have separate significant effects on mathematical achievement at the age of ten.
