Parents in Sweden are now free to name their newborns Budweiser or Metallica, following a relaxation in laws that banned naming children after fast-food chains, rock bands or brands of beer, according to The Guardian.

'There is nothing negative about a name like Coca-Cola or McDonald's today,' a tax authority spokesman said. Swear words for names are still forbidden.

Marilyn Ritchings, 67, from Penzance, became a grandmother and great-grandmother on the same day, said the Metro. Her 28-year-old daughter-in-law Aixa Cooper gave birth to 4.1kg Carmen at Treliske hospital before her granddaughter, Kian Whitscombe, 21, was brought to the same ward to deliver 1.8kg Daisy.
