Holiday clubs are victims of funding

Increased bureaucracy and funding issues have contributed to a drop in the number of holiday clubs, according to providers.

As Nursery World reported last week (14 August), BMRB research carried out for the DCSF found that the number of holiday clubs fell by 9 per cent between 2006 and 2007 to 5,800, following a sharp rise in numbers between 2003 and 2006. The number of places in holiday clubs dropped by 13 per cent to 230,000.
