CWDC reports on year's work
The Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) published its annual report and accounts for 2007-2008 last week.
The report highlights CWDC's achievements, including establishing the Early Years Professional (EYP) programme and involving children and young people in the direction of development. Over 1,300 people gained EYP status, with 125 local authorities developing EYP networks. The CWDC also developed a new model for sector endorsement of Early Years Foundation Degrees.
Chief executive of the CWDC Jane Haywood said, 'I am proud of what we have achieved. We would not be where we are today without the support of all our partners.'
Chairman Michael Leadbetter said, 'The crucial factor must be to keep experience and expertise linked to direct practice. Only appropriate career paths can secure safe, well-informed and well-resourced responses at every stage of contact with services.'
