No NEG advice for councils

Local authorities in Scotland will no longer receive guidelines from the Scottish Government on how much funding they should pass to PVI providers for the free early years entitlement for three-and four-year-olds.

In a move set to devolve more budgetary power to local authorities, the Scottish Government, after consultation with CoSLA, will stop issuing 'advisory floors', which since 2002 have set a minimum level for pre-school education places.
