Children's groups unite to improve outcomes

A new Government-funded organisation is aiming to co-ordinate research and knowledge on children and families to help the children's sector improve outcomes.

The Centre for Excellence and Outcomes in Children and Young People's Services (C4EO), a consortium of organisations including the National Children's Bureau, the National Foundation for Educational Research and the Social Care Institute for Excellence, was launched last week. Its role is to create a 'single and comprehensive picture of effective practice' focusing on six Every Child Matters themes: early years, disability, vulnerable children, youth, parents, carers and families, and schools and communities.
