Nursery staff are crucial to ensuring that children get the best start in life.
Despite their efforts, when it comes to pay they are not getting a fair deal. This year, their employers have offered them just a rise of 2.45 per cent. Nursery workers are some of the lowest paid in the public sector, having an average wage of just £6.08 per hour. This offer means just 20p per hour for people on this rate.
