Send junk, we'll make art

Celebrity 'junk' is the inspiration behind a new exhibition of sculptures by three-to-five-year-olds at a Leeds primary school.

Writer Alan Bennett, actor Stephen Fry and Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles have donated their unwanted objects to children in the foundation stage unit of Oakwood Primary School. Letters of support have come from the Queen, Prince Charles, Prime Minister Gordon Brown and 'Doctor Who' star David Tennant. Teacher Maeve Birdsall came up with the idea of asking famous people to give an old item, which would be recycled into art by the children and auctioned off to raise money for equipment in their outdoor area.
