The early years sector should press its case with a Government that desperately needs supporters.
With the Labour Government performing poorly in the opinion polls, and even worse in by-elections, and with a general election not that far away, it appears to be a good time to push for concessions on issues that concern you. The Department for Children, Schools and Families certainly seems keen to generate positive headlines and minimise the negative. In the past two weeks, we have seen a climbdown on the huge increases planned for Ofsted registration fees, a 'delay' to the controversial guidance on tracking children's progress in the Early Years Foundation...
