Strikes to go ahead

Local government strikes will go ahead on 16 and 17 July in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, Unison's industrial action committee has confirmed.
Local authority-employed nursery workers and school support staff will be affected. Unison general secretary Dave Prentis said, 'This decision has not been taken lightly, but years of pay cuts and hikes in fuel, food and housing costs have left us with little choice.'
