£9m internet safety advertising campaign

Nursery World, 3 July 2008

Children and parents are to be advised how to stay safe on the internet in a £9m Government advertising campaign.

The 'e-safety' drive is part of an action plan implementing recommendations by the Byron Review (News, 2 April). The UK Council for Child Internet Safety will start work in September, chaired by the DCSF and the Home Office. Representatives from the ICT industry, law enforcement and the third sector will be invited to sit on the board. The Byron Review Action Plan is at www.dcsf.gov.uk/byronreview/actionplan.
