Parents worry about media, materialism

Parents are increasingly concerned about the impact of materialism and the media obsession with celebrities on children's values, according to a poll conducted as part of the Good Childhood Inquiry.

The sixth and final report by the Children's Society looked at attitudes to children, children's values and society's values in general. A survey of more than 1,100 adults found increasing tension between adults and children, with 55 per cent saying there was more conflict between adults and children than when they were young.
