First pupil says farewell after 50 years

A council nursery in Nottingham preparing to shut its doors in July has united its first and last registered pupils for the farewell celebrations.

Jim Allcock, aged 60, met three-year-old Sophia Moore at Croft Nursery School in his first visit in 50 years (pictured). He was tracked down after head teacher Barbara Breakwell wrote a letter of appeal to the Nottingham Evening Post which was spotted by Mr Allcock's sister.
