Restorative Justice programme

Nursery World, 15 May 2008

Five-year-old Caitlin Allen uses a specialist plinth at The Legacy centre in Mawdesley, Lancashire, one of the Rainbow House centres which provide care and education for more than 120 disabled children in the north-west of England.

The plinth Caitlin is using was created by inmates at HMP Garth Prison in Leyland working through a Restorative Justice programme. The men have restored and made wooden furniture for the centre as part of a project to give something back to the community.
