A fireman from Surrey could face legal action for flying a Jolly Roger flag outside his house for his eight-year-old daughter's pirate-themed birthday party, reported the Daily Telegraph.

Mole Valley District Council has asked David Waterman, 41, to remove the flag after a neighbour complained that it breached planning laws. Mr Waterman said that he is determined to continue flying the skull and crossbones and is paying £95 to apply for advertising consent for the flag, which cost £5.
