The DCSF awards money to the Michael Palin Centre

Nursery World, 1 May 2008

The DCSF has awarded £340,000 to the Michael Palin Centre for Stammering Children in London to provide schools with information, advice and training on how to support children who stammer.

An information programme will be developed and rolled out to all schools by 2010 and resources will be available online. Film and television star Michael Palin said, 'I am delighted that the Department of Children, Schools and Families has recognised the importance and effectiveness of the work at the Centre. Their support, backed up by generous investment, is wonderfully encouraging news for those who stammer and those who seek to help them.'
