Welsh Assembly wins disability policy powers

New devolution powers will allow the Welsh government to create its own policies and procedures for disabled children, a Children in Wales conference heard last week.
The conference, Working Together from the Start, was focused on early intervention and support for disabled children and their families. Children in Wales is a founding partner in the Disabled Children Matter Wales campaign, which was launched in September. It aims to make sure the Welsh Assembly government, local authorities and local health boards make disabled children a priority over the next three years.
