PVI providers unite to protest at new rules

More than 100 nursery campaigners, including many children and parents, gathered outside Hampshire Council Chambers in Winchester last week to protest about Government rules for Nursery Education Grant funding.
The rally was held before a parent presented the nurseries' case in front of a full council meeting. PVI providers were asked to confirm they had received an agreement for the provision of free nursery education places last autumn, but Nursery World understands that not all nurseries have done so. Nursery owner Shaunagh de Boinville, joint-chair of the Hampshire Association of PVI Providers, said, 'Most private and independent settings cannot deliver 15 free hours per week...
