'Commercialisation of childhood' panel set up

A Government review into the commercialisation of childhood is to be led by a professor from the Institute of Education at London University.
David Buckingham, founder and director of the Centre for Study of Children, Youth and Media, was appointed chair of a panel of experts this week. The panel is being asked by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the Department of Culture, as part of the Children's Plan, to examine how children's engagement with the commercial world has changed and what impact that is having.
