Young and old share their cookery skills

Nursery children are getting together with the older generation to cook, bake and create in an innovative project in Cumbria.

'The Way They Were' brings older relatives and members of the community into nurseries, playgroups and pre-schools to help promote healthy eating. The idea originated with Age Concern South Lakeland, who were granted funds from the Fit as a Fiddle Lottery Award. Community artist Nicki Smith has been employed to run the project through all the local childcare settings over the next four years.
