'A Positive Start for Every Child'

Nursery World, 6 March 2008

A raft of new childcare proposals were unveiled on Monday by the Scottish Labour party to spearhead a children's plan in its fight back against the Scottish National Party.

'A Positive Start for Every Child', including measures to provide more outdoor spaces for children, was launched by Labour leader Wendy Alexander at The Yard, an adventure playground in Edinburgh. Other initiatives include guaranteed nursery places for vulnerable two-year-olds, a Charter of Support providing respite care for parents of disabled children, and the creation of a network of family learning centres.
